L.A. Teachers on the Chopping Block

Earlier this month, it was reported that Los Angeles schools were planning on firing 110 teachers for poor performance.

Now the way I see it is, you have three types of teachers. There are the teachers that make school more bearable for people to deal with. To me, those are the teachers that need to be kept.

You also have those teachers that seem to make school feel really long, and makes you think like, “Why am I in this class?” Then there those teachers that just don’t know how to explain the work. School should be a place where learning something new is exciting.

When you have teachers that can barely do the work themselves and just make school a place of dullness. You feel like that you’re probably not going to want to be in that class. Teachers from Los Angeles need to step their game up, since the city is looking to lay a bunch of them off.

I heard of a few bad teachers, but when you have 100 plus teachers that are being blamed for their poor performance -- that’s a serious problem. I had teachers who had trouble explaining the work, and that would make me mad because how are you suppose to be a teacher and aren't that good at teaching. If my teacher had a better way of explaining the work things would have work out for the best.
